The Al Faisal Global Foundation for Culture and Knowledge has announced that one of its publications dedicated to documenting Qatar’s heritage has received multiple regional and international awards.

“Qatar Philatelic History” has won three consecutive prestigious awards at major stamp exhibitions in Jakarta, Shanghai, and Sharjah.

Founder and Chairman of the Al Faisal Global Foundation for Culture and Knowledge, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani expressed his delight in this achievement, commending the Ministry of Culture’s outstanding efforts in promoting documentation, historical research, and knowledge dissemination.

He further explained that, in alignment with the foundation’s mission to safeguard and promote both Qatari and global heritage, the book’s publication was supported following a thorough review of its substantial historical value and the meticulous research conducted by its author, Antonio Geada. The book chronicles key phases in Qatar’s history, covering the period up to the end of Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah al-Thani’s reign (1949-1960).

He emphasised that the Al Faisal Global Foundation is committed to supporting historical and cultural documentation to ensure that future generations inherit a well-preserved record of the past.

Through publishing books that focus on history and heritage, the foundation seeks to enrich Qatar’s cultural landscape and contribute to global historical scholarship. “We firmly believe that by providing a platform for documenting and exploring Qatari, Arab, and global history and culture, we can foster greater appreciation and respect for the unique traditions and achievements of nations around the world,” he added.

For his part, Antonio Geada, the book’s author, expressed his honor in collaborating with the Al Faisal Global Foundation for Culture and Knowledge. “The Al Faisal Global Foundation for Culture and Knowledge generously provided valuable support and resources throughout the entire process of publishing my manuscript, Qatar Philatelic History. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to work with them once again in the future as we embark on the next chapter of the Qatar Philatelic History series.”
